Cursor, Windsurf, and Zed Ship Claude Opus 4.7 on Day Two

Claude Opus 4.7 moved quickly into coding products after Anthropic’s April 16 release. GitHub Copilot announced same-day availability, and Cursor announced Opus 4.7 in its community forum the same day.

That matters because developers usually experience frontier coding models through IDEs, hosted coding agents, and review tools, not through raw API calls. Fast integration can turn a model release into a practical productivity shift within days.

IDE-level availability matters more than model benchmarks for most developers. If a model appears quickly in Copilot, Cursor, and similar tools, its gains in agentic coding, tool use, and long-context reasoning reach working teams in the same week as the model launch.

Pricing and rollout caveats

GitHub said Opus 4.7 would roll out in Copilot with a 7.5x premium request multiplier as promotional pricing until April 30, 2026. That makes availability only half the story: a model can be in the picker and still be expensive for everyday agent loops.
